Jordanian Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgeon Dr. Firas Bakri won first place in the Venture 2021 School of Medicine Award with Xavier Bionix. The unique device and new technology enables surgeons around the world to perform surgeries remotely, which is the first of its kind in the world.
Bakri is the CEO and co-founder of Xavier Bionix, a Scottish based Medical Technology (MedTech) company, that develops world-class products for the medical industry using disruptive and emerging technologies, as Bakri describes it. The company is currently developing a ‘mixed reality surgical pre-operative software planning application,’ which is the company’s founding product. In addition to a Patient Specific Hinged 3D printed External Fixator Device.
Bakri graduated from the University of Jordan with distinction, joined the Jordanian Royal Medical Services, and went to the University of Dundee for his Master’s Degree.
