The Chief Executive Officer of Pfizer, Albert Bourla, announced that he tested positive for COVID-19 for the second time on Saturday.
In a statement, he said, “I’m feeling well and symptom free.”
On Aug. 15, Bourla had announced he tested positive for the first time and said, “I am grateful to have received four doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine and I am feeling well while experiencing very mild symptoms.”
However, he added that he has not yet taken the new bivalent booster shot, which targets the dominant BA.4 and BA.5 Omicron subvariants. The US Food and Drug Administration authorized its use in August 2022.
"I’ve not had the new bivalent booster yet, as I was following CDC guidelines to wait three months since my previous COVID case which was back in mid-August," Bourla added.
