Jordan’s population stood at 11,333,063, according to the Department of Statistics (DoS) Wednesday.
According to previous statements by the Secretary-General of the Higher Population Council Issa al-Masarwa, a significant increase has occurred in Jordan's population, as it was approximately five million in 2004, then it became about 9.5 million in 2015.
The average life expectancy of a Jordanian citizen is 71.5 years (74.4 years for females and 71.6 years for males).
Masarwa added that the percentage of non-Jordanians living in the Kingdom was eight percent in 2004. After the Syrian refugee crisis, it reached 31 percent.
