Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs and Minister of State for Modernization of the Public Sector Nasser Al-Shraideh said Wednesday that the public sector generates more than 10,000 job opportunities yearly.
He noted that approximately 75,000 people enter the labor market annually and, currently, there are more than 420,000 unemployed people in the Kingdom.
During an interactive meeting with Jordanian youth about 'Visions of Modernization' at Jordan University, Shraideh stressed the importance of enhancing the competitiveness of the national economy by reducing project production costs and energy costs, as well as removing administrative bureaucracy.
The Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship Ahmed Al-Hananda said there is a gap between the requirements of the labor market and existing skills.
He indicated that there are 350,000 students in university, 70,000 of whom are about to graduate and 70,000 who are already working.
