The Civil Defense Directorate (CDD) revealed Friday that a team of 600 personnel, accompanied by 70 firefighting vehicles, joined forces with four planes from the Royal Air Force to contain the Jerash-Ajloun forest fires.
In their statement to Roya, the CDD highlighted the great efforts undertaken by relevant authorities to restrict the fire's spread, successfully preventing it from engulfing over a thousand dunums of land.
The personnel remains on-site to ensure complete extinguishment of the fire, according to the CDD.

In the early hours of Saturday, the Jordanian Armed Forces (JAF) - the Arab Army announced their utilization of 214 tons of water over the past two days to extinguish the fires that erupted in the Safsafa and Wadi al-Shamiya forests.
Situated between the governorates of Jerash and Ajloun, the challenging terrains of the area had hindered the access of civil defense vehicles to the fire site since Thursday evening.
To combat the fires, three aircraft were deployed on Thursday evening, including two Super Pumas and one MI-26, providing assistance in the firefighting efforts.
