Wednesday, the Parliamentary Health Committee banned media access, despite initially inviting media representatives to cover the committee's involvement in mediating the ongoing conflict between the Federation of Insurance Companies and Jordan's Medical Association (JMA).

As a result, correspondents and photographers were left waiting for nearly two hours to no avail.

Eventually, a council media official emerged and requested them to take general snapshots of the meeting, which was being held in a different room, far from their location.

In response, the media personnel declined formal coverage of the committee gathering, and a majority of them opted to depart without obtaining any information.

This incident is not the first time the House of Representatives has posed barriers to journalists.

This comes despite the continuous emphasis by His Majesty King Abdullah II on the significance of upholding the right to access information.

His most recent affirmation of this principle was during his meeting with the Chairman and members of the Board of Trustees of the National Center for Human Rights.
