During the 78th UN General Assembly in New York Jordan's Minister of Health Feras Al-Hawari emphasized the critical need for international support to maintain the quality of healthcare provided to citizens and refugees with utmost fairness.
Hawari explained that the decrease in required funding, amid the numerous global crises, makes it challenging to maintain good health indicators.
He reaffirmed Jordan's commitment to achieving comprehensive healthcare coverage for all its citizens, including refugees, despite the significant burdens of hosting refugees for seven decades.
The Minister highlighted the Jordanian government's major initiatives to enhance future healthcare services and outlined a strategic plan for 2023-2025 aimed at improving healthcare services.
He outlined that the ministry has set a roadmap for achieving comprehensive healthcare coverage by identifying eight key objectives.
Hawari concluded by referencing the Ministry's efforts in developing a healthcare financing strategy to ensure comprehensive healthcare coverage through a balanced, equitable and sustainable healthcare financing system.
