The Palestinian Ministry of Communications has issued a statement urgently calling on all international institutions, human rights organizations and civil society bodies overseeing the communications sector worldwide to intervene immediately and compel the Israeli Occupation authorities to restore communication and internet services in Gaza.
Friday evening, the Israeli Occupation authorities suspended internet services in the Gaza Strip.
The ministry urged an end to the deliberate targeting of Palestinian communication networks operating in Gaza during the ongoing aggression.
The ministry emphasized that the complete communication blackout in Gaza, resulting from the intentional actions of the Israeli Occupation authorities from outside the boundaries of the Strip during the continuous aggression, has exacerbated the humanitarian catastrophe.
Citizens are unable to request emergency services and assistance when shelling occurs in their areas.
The ministry pointed out that this has led to the disruption of communication between ambulance and civil defense teams and their respective centers, making it impossible to direct these teams to the locations of shelling incidents.
This, in turn, has resulted in the loss of many lives.
Furthermore, it intentionally deprives civilians of their right to communicate and check on each other due to continuous displacement and shelling, causing a state of terror and fear.
These actions are considered violations of international norms and fundamental rights outlined in international customary law, concealing war crimes.
