Tunisian police arrested a man who had murdered his 14-year-old daughter in January 2023, after which he kept her body in the refrigerator at his home before deciding later to dispose of it in a river.

A decomposed human body was found in a river bed in the governorate of Sousse. Next to it was a notebook containing torn-out pages in the form of a letter explaining how the crime was committed.

However, the notebook was fabricated "with the intention of disguising [the crime]," according to a court official.

The perpetrator pleaded guilty to the charges.

The father justified the crime and cited his dissatisfaction with his daughter's behavior as the reason for committing the crime.
