Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia' Al-Sudani met with the United States National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan on the sidelines of his participation in the Davos Forum, as reported by Iraqi media. 

Al-Sudani discussed with Sullivan the formulation of a timeline to conclude the mission of the international coalition in Iraq.

"The meeting emphasized the commencement of the activities of the bilateral committee tasked with reviewing the presence of the international coalition in Iraq, agreed upon during the visit of the Iraqi Minister of Defense to the United States last August. The discussion also focused on formulating a timeline to conclude the coalition's mission and transition to comprehensive bilateral relations with coalition countries," according to a statement from Al-Sudani's media office. 

The two sides discussed the invitation from the US President to the Prime Minister for a visit to the US, and they agreed to set a specific date for a meeting between the two officials.

Al-Sudani emphasized his rejection of any action that would violate Iraq's sovereignty, affirming a commitment to a direct response, especially in the aftermath of the recent US attack in Baghdad. He also reiterated the government's commitment to address any attacks targeting bases hosting advisors from the international coalition.

The Prime Minister pointed out the disturbances in the region due to the ongoing aggression against Gaza, emphasizing that "stability in the region and efforts to reduce the escalation of conflict begin with stopping the genocide targeting the Palestinian people and violating international law."

He stressed the necessity of working towards ensuring the Palestinians' right to a dignified life on their land.
