The national football team is set to have a historic encounter with the South Korean team at 6:00 PM on Tuesday, February 6th, at the Ahmed bin Ali Stadium in Doha, as part of the semi-final round of the 2023 AFC Asian Cup.
The team underwent its final training session on Monday at the Al-Aqla Stadium in Doha, under the guidance of coach Hussein Amouta, to put the finishing touches, along with implementing some tactical formations for the match.
Coach Amouta emphasized the importance of the match against a distinguished team in all aspects during the press conference. He stated that overcoming these differences requires tactical and collective commitment, and that they are preparing in the required manner to present a good performance.
Amouta also mentioned that the team will be without the services of Salem Al-Ajalin and Ali Alwan, after both received their second yellow card against Tajikistan. He noted the presence of Musa Al-Tamari among his options for the match, as the player has shown readiness to participate.
On his part, player Ibrahim Saadeh expressed that the team is on the verge of a historic match against an organized team, but they have the ability to overcome all difficulties and bring joy to our broad audience. He stressed the need to believe in their chances and abilities to achieve victory and advance to the final scene.
The national team started the tournament with a 4-0 victory over Malaysia, followed by a 2-2 draw with South Korea, and a 0-1 loss to Bahrain. They then secured a 3-2 victory over Iraq in the round of 16, and advanced past Tajikistan in the quarter-finals with a one-nil score.
