Explosions were heard Wednesday in the vicinity of the Syrian capital, Damascus - per Roya’s correspondent.

Syrian air defenses were engaging with some hostile targets in the skies over Damascus.

The Syrian Arab News Agency, SANA, reported that Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) “launched an aerial aggression targeting several points in the countryside of Damascus.”

It added that Syrian air defense systems intercepted the IOF’s missiles, downing most of them, with losses being limited to material damage.

According to preliminary information, our correspondent indicated that the aggression targeted two areas: Hajira and the vicinity of Sayeda Zeinab, south of Damascus. Smoke clouds and flames were observed rising from the south of Damascus.

Eyewitnesses reported seeing ambulances heading towards the Sayeda Zeinab area along the airport road.
