His Majesty King Abdullah II emphasized the necessity of halting the unilateral "Israeli" attacks and measures in Jerusalem, which affect the freedom of worshippers at the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque/Al-Haram Al-Qudsi Al-Sharif, preventing them from practicing their religious rituals, especially during the blessed month of Ramadan.
During his reception of the United Arab List delegation in the Knesset, headed by Deputy Dr. Mansour Abbas, on Tuesday, His Majesty emphasized that the Kingdom would continue its historical and religious role in protecting and caring for the Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem, based on the Hashemite guardianship over them.
His Majesty warned of the danger of the ongoing war on Gaza and the hostile actions carried out by extremist settlers against Palestinians in the West Bank and Jerusalem.
He reiterated the need to exert maximum efforts to reach an immediate and permanent ceasefire in Gaza and to protect innocent civilians.
His Majesty reiterated Jordan's continued provision of humanitarian, relief, and medical assistance to the people in the Gaza Strip through all available means.
He also reiterated Jordan's firm rejection of attempts to displace Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza, and any attempts to separate them as extensions of the one Palestinian state.
His Majesty pointed out the importance of continuing to support the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA) to fulfill its UN mandate.
He reaffirmed that the only way to restore security and stability in the region is through launching a political process to achieve a just and comprehensive peace based on the two-state solution, ensuring the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the lines of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
His Majesty praised the United Arab List's stances in supporting peace efforts and finding a political horizon for the Palestinian issue based on the two-state solution, and its important role in representing and conveying the Arab voice.
