The spokesperson for the Public Security Directorate reported that the firefighting and ambulance teams from the Civil Defense Directorate in central Amman responded to a fire that broke out on Friday inside a residential house in the Gardens area of Amman.

The fire claimed the life of a 76-year-old woman who succumbed to inhaling gases emitted from the blaze, while her husband sustained various burns on his body.

Efforts were swiftly made by the firefighting teams to extinguish the fire and gain full control over it. Meanwhile, the ambulance teams provided necessary first aid to the injured man before transporting him to Jordan University Hospital and evacuating the deceased.

The injured person is currently undergoing treatment. An investigation has been opened to determine the cause of the fire.
