The Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) announced today the death of two officers and the injury of a soldier who’s currently in serious condition in battles in central Gaza.

Master Sergeant (reserve) Ido Aviv, 28 years old, of the Yiftah Brigade’s 9232nd Battalion, from Karmiel - killed in central Gaza battles.

Master Sergeant (reserve) Kalkidan Meharim, 37 years old, of the Carmeli Brigade’s 223rd Battalion, from Petah Tikva - also killed in central Gaza.

Another soldier of the 223rd Battalion was seriously wounded as a result of a blast during a battle with Palestinian resistance in the Netzarim Corridor area, according to an initial IOF investigation cited by Hebrew media.

The cause of the explosion is still being probed - according to the IOF.

Yesterday, Al-Qassam Brigades said in a statement that its fighters lured an IOF unit and ambushed them using explosive devices and "F16" missiles that were launched at civilians and did not explode on Al-Sikkah street in the Magharah area in central Gaza.
