The International Court of Justice (ICJ) ruled Tuesday against issuing emergency measures over German weapons exports to the Israeli Occupation.

During a hearing today on the lawsuit filed by Nicaragua against Germany, the court's president, Nawaf Salam, said “the circumstances are not such as to require the exercise of its power under article 41 of the statute to indicate provisional measures.”

The court remains “deeply concerned about the catastrophic living conditions of the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, in particular in view of the prolonged and widespread deprivation of food and other basic necessities to which they have been subjected.”

Today's session was held to rule on Nicaragua's request for interim measures against Germany to stop arms shipments to “Israel”.

Nicaraguan’s representatives argued that Germany is “Israel's” second largest arms supplier and that it violates international human rights agreements by suspending humanitarian aid to Palestine while continuing to supply weapons to “Israel.”
