“Israeli” Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu claimed Monday on his “X” account that his government approved the construction of a new public hospital in the Occupied territories in the Negev to respond to the growing demand for medical care in the area and its surroundings.

However, Community Notes on “X” clarified that the decision to establish and approve the hospital was made in 2022 under the government of Naftali Bennett - with crowds of “Israelis” reprimanding Netanyahu on social media for attempting to take credit.
The hospital was built after years of “abandonment and deliberate neglect” according to former Health Minister Nitzan Horowitz – with much of Netanyahu’s terms as Prime Minister covering this time period.
