As the Israeli Occupation government keeps pouring billions into the aggression against the Gaza Strip, the government’s budget has risen by nearly 12 billion Shekels (USD 3.2 billion) in April, jumping to seven percent of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) – according to preliminary figures released by the “Israeli” Finance Ministry, cited by Hebrew media.
The deficit jumped from 4.2 percent of GDP in 2023 and exceeded 2024 expectations, marked at 6.6 percent.

The decline in finance is attributed to the wide-scale aggression waged against the Strip, and a decline in tax revenues.
The “Israeli” government’s expenditures since the start of the year up until April rose to 195.3 billion shekels (USD 52 billion), an increase of 36 percent compared to the same period from 2023.
The “Israeli” Finance Ministry estimates that the costs of operation in the Gaza Strip to be nearly 60 billion Shekels (USD 16 billion) as the war entered its 216th day.
