Hundreds of journalists, activists, and social media users commemorated the second anniversary of the death of journalist Shireen Abu Akleh, a native of Jerusalem.
The Center for the Protection and Freedom of Journalists reiterated its condemnation of Abu Akleh's killing, stating: "Two years have passed since your assassination, and the perpetrators remain unpunished."
In a deliberate attempt to obscure the truth and suppress the Palestinian narrative regarding ongoing aggression against Palestinian territories, Abu Akleh was targeted by Israeli Occupation bullets on the morning of May 11, 2022.

Her image, lying on the ground with her helmet and a jacket emblazoned with the word "Press," remains etched in the minds of social media users.
Abu Akleh was deliberately targeted while covering the incursion into the Jenin camp in the northern West Bank, with bullets aimed directly at her head.
Journalists continue to be in the crosshairs of the Israeli Occupation. According to statistics from the government media office in Gaza, the death toll among journalists in the Gaza Strip has reached 143 since October 7.
Last year, the United Nations confirmed that the Gaza Strip has become the most dangerous place in the world for journalists and their families.
