The Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned today the attack on a United Nations vehicle in southern Gaza Strip in the city of Rafah today, resulting in the death of one staff member and the injury of a Jordanian employee, due to “Israel's’ escalation of its military operations in Rafah – a statement by the Ministry said.

The Ministry's spokesperson, Ambassador Dr. Sufian Al-Qudah, emphasized the necessity of ensuring protection for United Nations staff and relief workers who play a significant humanitarian role for Palestinians, amid the unprecedented humanitarian crisis in the region. He held Israel accountable for this, as the occupying power, and due to its continued war on the Gaza Strip – per the statement.
