The statements came after Friday prayers at the King Abdullah Mosque in Amman.
March 10, Friday prayers were no longer permitted by the government following a sharp uptick in COVID-19 cases in the Kingdom, and on April 18, Prime Minister Bisher Al-Khasawneh decided to reinstate the decision allowing citizens to perform Friday prayers in mosques on foot for a period of one hour, during a session with the Council of Ministers.
Notably, the time allocation for Friday prayers in mosques will be determined by the Minister of Awqaf, Islamic Affairs and Holy Places, Muhammad Al-Khalaileh on a weekly basis, provided that worshipers adhere to the approved health protocols.
