Sunday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates announced that Jordanians residing in Germany, Russia, Algeria, Greece and Romania can apply for passport issuance and renewal electronically.
In a statement, the ministry said the e-service, launched in coordination with the Civil Status and Passport Department (CSPD) and the Ministry of Digital Economy, comes within the framework of a partnership between government agencies concerned with providing services to citizens and facilitating and simplifying procedures for expatriates.
"It also comes to complete the similar steps taken by Jordanian missions in Riyadh, Jeddah, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Muscat, Manama, Doha, Kuwait, Washington, London, Ottawa, Canberra, Cairo and Ankara," the statement added.
The service was carried out in 19 diplomatic missions covering 28 countries, and work is in progress to launch it in Jordanian missions in Rome, Madrid, Beirut, Paris and Khartoum within the next few weeks, once the necessary procedures and arrangements are completed.
The service is available on: eservices.cspd.gov.jo or cspd.gov.jo.
