Sunday, the Minister of Finance, Muhammad Al-Ississ, said that the cost of establishing field hospitals to treat coronavirus patients amounted to JD 15.2 million.

During a meeting with the Finance Committee in the House of Representatives, Ississ said that the cost of renting private hospitals to treat COVID-19 patients amounted to JD 12.3 million, in addition to JD five million for university hospitals.

The cost of medical supplies during the pandemic amounted to around JD 25 million.

Regarding the purchase of COVID-19 vaccines, Ississ said that Jordan has contracted to purchase additional quantities, and the total purchase of coronavirus vaccines will reach approximately JD 124 million.

He lastly added that the total amount spent to confront the COVID-19 pandemic during 2020, was estimated at JD 101.6 million.
