Following royal directives to freeze the tax on kerosene during winter, the government announced the reduction of kerosene prices.
The Oil Derivatives Pricing Committee held a meeting Monday and made the decision to freeze the tax and reduce the price of kerosene by 165 fils (the fixed tax value), making the price of a liter 620 fils instead of 785 fils.
The price of a kerosene tank will be reduced to JD 12.40 instead of JD 15.70.

Earlier, His Majesty King Abdullah II had directed the government to freeze the tax on kerosene during winter, in order to ease the burden on families with limited income, during a meeting with representatives and leading figures from Aqaba, according to the Royal Hashemite Court.
