Jordan’s demand for kerosene increased 30 percent over the past two days, according to Nahar al-Saeedat, head of the Gas Station Owners’ Syndicate.

Saeedat told Roya Tuesday that the atmosphere depression, which Jordan is witnessing, increased the demand for oil derivatives.

The refinery filled 200,000 cylinders of gas Tuesday morning, in addition to 150,000 Monday, he explained.

He pointed to Jordan’s strategic reserves of kerosene and gas, as well as the readiness of fuel stations and gas agencies in various regions of the Kingdom.

The Ministry of Industry said Monday that it had taken necessary measures to keep essential sectors and their supply chains running, in light of the predicted weather conditions.

Bakeries were ordered to stock up on enough flour to last several extra days, and mills are working to meet the needs of the sector, the ministry wrote in a statement sent to Roya.
