Thursday, the perpetrator who stole JD 11,000 from a money exchange shop in Irbid was arrested.

The media spokesperson for the Public Security Directorate (PSD) said that the employees of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) were able to identify, arrest the perpetrator and retrieve that stolen money in record time.

The spokesperson said someone reported the robbery to the Irbid Police Directorate, saying that an unidentified person walked into a money exchange shop, jumped behind the counter with a sharp tool in hand, stole JD 11,000 and fled the scene of the crime.

As soon as the crime was reported, police officers were immediately dispatched to the location of the incident, collected information from the crime scene, then circulated the perpetrator's specifications, who was later identified and tracked down.

During interrogations, the perpetrator confessed to committing the crime, the spokesperson said.

Notably, he will be referred to the Public Prosecutor of the State Security Court (SSC).
