Houses collapsed due to heavy rains in San Miguel Petapa, Guatemala.
The current rainy season in Guatemala, which begins in May and ends in November, has so far left 29 dead, 2.1 million affected, 10,303 evacuated, and severe damage to infrastructure.
Rescue teams, with the help of search dogs, discovered the bodies, including at least eight children.
One of the people whose houses collapsed, Zoila Gonzalez, said: "I was making some eggs for my grandchildren when the whole kitchen came down. My daughter said to me, "Mom, get out," and I left everything there. I got out, and when I got out I fainted, and a man carried me out."
