Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, revealed details about the killing of the son of the former Chief of Staff of the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) and War Cabinet Minister, Gadi Eisenkot.
In a statement Friday, they said: "Yesterday evening, Al-Qassam fighters rigged the entrance of a tunnel east of Tal al-Zaatar, north of the Gaza Strip, with an explosive device hidden in a television. As soon as enemy soldiers arrived at the site and attempted to open the tunnel door, the explosive device was detonated, leading to the killing of the son of the former Chief of Staff and Minister in the Zionist War Council, Gadi Eisenkot, and the killing and injury of several other soldiers."
They announced the death of Major (Reserve) Gal Eisenkot (25) from 'Herzliya,' an IOF soldier in Battalion 699, Formation 'Hatay Hash.'
Israeli Occupation President Isaac Herzog and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu attended the burial of Eisenkot's son.
Channel 13 earlier reported that Eisenkot was seriously injured in a tunnel explosion on the outskirts of Jabalia, adding that he was pronounced upon arrival at the hospital.
