The Grand Criminal Court has acquitted a defendant in a tragic case where a girl lost her life after being injected with a drug substance, including heroin and hashish, causing her to lose consciousness.

In a recent ruling, the court announced the defendant's acquittal of the charge related to administering harmful substances resulting in the girl's death, citing a lack of conclusive evidence under Article 330/1 of the Penal Code.

Both the deceased and the defendant were known drug users for an extended period, according to court documents reviewed by Roya.

The decision outlined that the defendant had visited the girl's residence, carrying heroin, which she consumed in the kitchen, resulting in her loss of consciousness.

Despite efforts by the girl's family to revive her and rush her to the hospital, she tragically passed away after several days. An autopsy revealed needle marks on her upper extremities, with no signs of external trauma, particularly around vital areas like the nostrils, mouth, and neck.

The court's ruling attributed the cause of death to respiratory and circulatory collapse induced by drug consumption, shedding light on the complexities of substance abuse issues and their devastating consequences.
