Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, Iraq, Palestine, Syria, Egypt, Lebanon, Yemen and the UAE have announced that Tuesday will be the completion of the blessed month of Ramadan, and Wednesday will be the first day of Eid al-Fitr.
Different countries are observing the crescent moon for the month of Shawwal, with some opting to sight it on Monday and others on Tuesday.
The timing for sighting the crescent moon varies from country to country based on their fasting schedules. Many countries have designated April 8th for the sighting, including Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the UAE, Kuwait, Yemen, Iraq, Bahrain, Palestine, Syria, Lebanon, Egypt, Algeria, Tunisia, Somalia, Djibouti, and several other Islamic and international nations.
Eid al-Fitr marks the end of Ramadan, the Islamic holy month of fasting. During the holiday, Muslims gather for special prayers, give charity to the poor and needy (known as Zakat al-Fitr), and celebrate with family and friends. It is a time of joy, gratitude, and reflection on spiritual growth achieved during Ramadan.
