The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) announced Thursday that its forces “successfully engaged three unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) launched from Houthi-controlled areas of Yemen” between approximately 4:15 AM and 6:00 AM on Wednesday, April 10.
Two of the UAVs were launched over the Gulf of Aden and one was launched over the Red Sea, no injuries or damage were reported to coalition or commercial ships - according to the CENTCOM.
CENTCOM forces also destroyed eight Houthi drones in “self-defense”, the statement added. The attack occurred between 7:50 PM and 8:00 PM Wednesday.
THE UAVs presented an imminent threat to US coalition and merchant vessels in the region and the striked were conducted in self-defense - CENTCOM said.
