Iran’s Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said Sunday that it notified its “friends and neighbors” of the airborne attack carried out against “Israel” 72 hours in advance.

“About 72 hours prior to our operations, we informed our friends and neighbors in the region that Iran’s response against Israel was certain, legitimate, and irrevocable,” Amir-Abdollahian said at a press conference today, Saturday - cited by The Telegraph.

In a meeting with foreign ambassadors earlier today, Abdollahian said that Iran informed the United States that the attack against “Israel” will be “limited” and for the purposes of self-defense.

He affirmed that while Iran has no desire to prolong defensive actions, it remains committed to safeguarding its interests against any potential attacks.

Tehran would promptly defend its legitimate interests if faced with new aggression, he added, highlighting that while Iran exhibited restraint, Israeli Occupation misinterpreted the situation.
