US destroys Houthi suicide drone boat, anti-ship ballistic missile

The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) announced today that its forces destroyed one Anti-Ship Ballistic Missile (ASBM) after being launched from Yemen into a Gulf of Aden - there were no injuries reported to US coalition forces or commercial ships according to their statement.

The incident took place at 9:52 AM (Sana’a time) on April 25.

In addition, CENTCOM said that they successfully engaged and destroyed one Unmanned Surface Vessel (USV) and one Unmanned Aerial vehicle (UAV) in Houthi-controlled areas of Yemen between 12:19 PM. and 4:17 PM also on April 25.

“It was determined that the ASBM, USV, and UAV presented an imminent threat to US, coalition, and merchant vessels in the region,” the statement said, and that “these actions are taken to protect freedom of navigation and make international waters safer and more secure for US, coalition, and merchant vessels.”
