Hundreds of settlers stormed the courtyards of the Al-Aqsa Mosque on Sunday under tight protection from the Israeli Occupation police, on the sixth day of the Jewish Passover holiday, according to the Palestinian News Agency “Wafa”.

The Islamic Endowments Department in Jerusalem reported that more than 600 settlers entered Al-Aqsa from the Moroccan Gate, conducting provocative tours and performing Talmudic rituals in its courtyards.

The statement added that the “Israeli” police intensified their military measures at the entrances to the Old City of Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa Mosque.

The department emphasized that the “Israeli” authorities exploit Jewish holidays and occasions to tighten restrictions on Palestinians and impose collective punishments on them, by closing checkpoints, tightening military measures, obstructing movement, and preventing Palestinians from accessing holy sites.

The extremist “Temple Mount Faithful” movement called for widespread incursions into Al-Aqsa Mosque to offer the Passover sacrifices.
