Captain Amer Bani Nasr from the Highway Patrol Department of the Public Security Department reported a serious traffic accident on the Mafraq-Zarqa highway towards Zarqa yesterday, Tuesday, resulting in seven injuries.
Bani Nasr stated on Amen FM that at around 5:00 PM on Tuesday, a collision involving five vehicles, including two trucks, occurred, leading to seven individuals getting injured.
The accident caused a high-pressure pole and electrical cables to fall, completely blocking traffic flow. Civil Defense teams intervened promptly, transferring the injured to Zarqa Governmental Hospital and clearing the road by removing the electrical cables and other obstacles.
Bani Nasr noted that the overall health condition of the injured was moderate.
He also highlighted recent issues with illegal or tampered vehicle license plates and driving without them.
The Department renewed its call to the public to avoid violations and behaviors that compromise traffic safety, urging adherence to traffic rules, avoiding red light violations, and minimizing distractions such as using mobile phones while driving.
