Bassam Al-Sarhan, Chairman of the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (TRC), stated that recent interference with internet frequencies and GPS maps in Jordan was caused by drone activity, linked to Iranian attacks on Israeli Occupation.
Speaking at the Government Communication Forum titled “The Reality of Communications in Jordan” on Tuesday, Sarhan emphasized the unprecedented regional war conditions. He noted that during the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, similar disturbances occurred due to the presence of a Russian base in neighboring countries, though to a lesser extent.
Sarhan highlighted the TRC's adherence to established procedures in communicating with relevant countries and addressing interference issues.
In recent times, citizens have reported disruptions in mapping applications and their failure to function properly.
