The South Korean national team secured a spot in the quarter-finals of the 2023 Asian Cup, triumphing over their opponent Saudi Arabia in a 4-2 penalty shootout at Qatar's Education City Stadium.
The regular and extra time concluded in a 1-1 draw, with Saudi Arabia's Abdullah Redeef scoring in the 46th minute and South Korea's Cho Kyu-seong responding in the 99th minute.
In the initial stage, the Saudi national team led Group Six, accumulating 7 points with wins over Oman (2-1) and Kyrgyzstan (2-0) and a draw against Thailand (0-0).
