The Yemen’s Houthis announced that its forces targeted four ships in the Gulf of Aden and the Red Sea over the past 72 hours, according to the Houthi military spokesperson Brigadier General Yahya Sare’e.
In statements Tuesday, Sare’e added that the Houthis carried out a military operation targeting Umm al-Rashrash (Eilat) located at the northern tip of the Red Sea.
Since October 19, The Houthis have been targeting vessels linked with “Israel” in support of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, which has been ravaged by the “Israeli” aggression since Oct. 7, 2023.
In response, the US and the UK started carrying out strikes against Houthis targets to “protect freedom of navigation” - per their expression.
Afterwards, the Houthis declared American and British ships and interests to be legitimate targets as well.
"We will persist in upholding our religious, moral and humanitarian duties towards the Palestinian people, and our military operations will not stop unless the aggression stops and the siege on the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip is lifted," Houthis Military Spokesperson Sare’e said.
